Super Maxi-Pad Girl #3 Cover Preview

Wednesday, March 3rd, 2010

Hey all three folks that read this blog! Good news! Super Maxi-Pad Girl #3 is going to be off to the printers soon enough! I’m in crunch time right now as my soft deadline of Sunday, February 28th has come and gone. My hard deadline is this coming Sunday, but it will most likely get done before then.

Anyhow, here is the cover art for Super Maxi-Pad Girl #3. I need to make a few minor color matching tweaks and put a quick blurb on the front and voila, I’m DONE.

This issue is going to be pretty sweet. First, my good friend Danno Klonowski was kind enough to write an eight page “out-of-continuity” story. Secondly, My friends who are in the band Manor Drive were kind enough to create a Super Maxi-Pad Girl theme song, which you’ll be able to download after either purchasing a copy of Super Maxi-Pad Girl #3 or being a slag and waiting for it to just magically pop up on this website. Lastly, this issue will make it’s debut at the brand spanking new C2E2 comic convention in Chicago.

I’m so PUMPED!

Hijinks Page Fifty-Two (Chapter Three)

Thursday, March 11th, 2010

Well, Super Maxi-Pad Girl #3 is done, so I’m back to Hijinks. Hopefully I can get this done THIS YEAR. We’ll see. Anyway, we are about about 18 pages away from the end of chapter three. With that being said, all that needs to happen is cranking pages out. So, now go ahead and read and I’ll get back to drawing. Later!

Only sixteen pages to go until the end of chapter three! Can you believe that I’ve posted so many pages in a row? Yeah me either! Don’t expect this to keep happening though, since I always seem to get side-tracked by other crap. Anyway, enjoy.

C2E2 Sketches

Sunday, March 21st, 2010

As per Zander Cannon’s urging, I’ve been putting together some sketches to have at my table for the C2E2 show coming up next month in Chicago. Seeing as how I don’t have a known body of work outside of the 100 - 150 people that have purchased a Super Maxi-Pad Girl comic, he said it would be a good idea for people to see what type of work I can do in the form of sketches.

Well, given that there will be a bunch of comics on the table for purchase of characters that are likely not going to appeal to the prototypical fanboy, I thought putting together some colored sketches of some of my favorite superheroes might be attractive. Market penetration!

Now, I know a lot of people get down on superheroes, but truth be told they are an important part of comics history and the main reason for these fanfests in the first place. Personally, I still like superheroes, although I don’t buy too many books. So, without further ado, here is what I’ve put together so far, let me know what you think…I don’t deal with non-digital color usually.

Hijinks Page Fifty-Six (Chapter Three)

Sunday, March 21st, 2010

This page took a little longer to do that most. There was a tremendous amount of hand cramping that went into the little details on each character in the crowd. I’m not saying this is a great page by any means (as there are plenty others in this book that could claim that title), however it was pain-stakingly difficult to complete. I took breaks to work bigger on other projects, as you can see in my last post.

Anyhow, enjoy!
