Thanks a lot Fox News!

This morning I had a friendly reminder that the RNC was in town.

In the spirit of the RNC being in town, I give you Hacksaw’s message to the Republican Party. That’s right, he’s decided to move to Canada!

Our hero “Hacksaw” Jim Duggan classes things up a bit in the presence of a few fire fighters. But who really wears a white coat with a black shirt and jeans. ALSO, is Hacksaw sucking in his gut to look better for the camera? If anyone knows any backstory to any of these pictures, real or otherwise, I’d love to hear them.

I haven’t been able to post many things on the blog recently, since I am overwhelmed with projects. However, I think I may be seeing the light at the end of the tunnel! Super Maxi-Pad Girl will go to print on Monday!
Today, I finished the front cover for the Super Maxi-Pad Girl comic that will be debuting at the 20th annual MCBA FallCon. I’ve posted it below. The first person to tell me what famous comic book cover I am ripping off will get a special prize!

Hacksaw is sick of politics. Just downright sick of all of the hoopla concerning the financial and housing markets sucking. He is just ashamed of the good Old Glory. So, he has taken up toting around the Australian Flag. Yes folks, the Australian Flag. The flag of the same country that brought you The Crocodile Hunter and kangaroos.
Hacksaw is a smart man. HOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!

As I stated before, there is light at the end of the tunnel! I had a meeting with Bud Burgy this evening regarding the release of the Muscles and Frights anthology. Needless to say, the book has some outstanding contributors and it will be highly entertaining. It will be released at the MCBA Fallcon on October 4th and 5th. Get your copy there or go to Muscles and Fights dot com to order after October 4th!
Besides assisting Bud in the compilation of this latest anthology, myself and Ben Z. created a short four page story for Muscles and Frights. We both conceived the concept, but Ben did the writing and layouts, while I merely did the art. Quite a departure from working alone, but very refreshing to let somebody else worry about the writing for once.
I’ve included character designs for this story below.

Well, we didn’t die due to the Large Hadron Collider a couple of weeks ago, so you should really come on down to the St. Paul Cartoonist Conspiracy Jam this Thursday, September 18th, 2008!
You didn’t get sucked into a black hole when they powered it up, right? Well, I have news for you, the first real tests aren’t going to happen for another month or two. So, what is keeping you from showing up? Scared that the economy will crumble? Horsepocky! It already has! Might as well do some drawing before anarchy and/or Doomsday sets in!
The jam will be at:
Cosmic’s Coffee Shoppe
189 Snelling Ave N.
St. Paul, MN 55104
(Northwest corner of Snelling and Selby)
Sometimes we get froggy and head on over to grab a brew at:
O’Gara’s Bar and Grill
164 Snelling Ave N
St. Paul, MN 55104
(Southeast corner of Snelling and Selby)
Just bring some drawing utensils, an idea for the jam, and a few bucks to get a tasty beverage — the baristas really do appreciate that. Any pre-jam ideas/topics can be posted here.
